M1.5 Environmental Exposures Home Assessment

In my home assessment I found a number of exposures. The most alarming was the lack of radon testing, considering how harmful it is. I also found it interesting that simple things like candles and air fresheners that we may use on a daily basis are also exposures. I believe the age of the home was asked to consider lead in paint that was widely and commonly used in the 1970s.  If someone lives in a basement they may be increasingly exposed to radioactive chemicals in the ground that can seep into a home. Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to assess and address home- based environmental health risks.

  1. Hello Selenne,

I found the candle and air freshener interesting as well. It seems like both of us have taken some great information from this home assessment.

  2. Hi Selenne,
Thank you for your post, I found that there are many physical and chemical factors at our homes can be risk factors if we don't know how to use is it properly , also the right exposure to sun light and right ventilation are considered as important factors that can help to eliminate many risk factors
